One of the most vibrant, creative, and visually stunning events we’ve ever been part of is Waterford Spraoi! This incredible street arts festival transforms Waterford City into a living, breathing work of art, with parades, performances, and jaw-dropping spectacles around every corner.

For us, Spraoi was always an event like no other—a place where imagination ran wild, where performers, artists, and festival-goers all became part of something bigger. Our face painting stall was always buzzing with energy, surrounded by the sounds of music, laughter, and the awe of watching the streets come alive with color and movement.

What Made Spraoi So Special?

Unlike other festivals that focus on food, music, or markets, Spraoi is all about spectacle, creativity, and street performance. Everywhere you look, there’s aerial acrobatics, giant puppets, theatrical costumes, and whimsical characters weaving through the crowds.

As face painters, it was the perfect festival to go bold and creative. Instead of classic designs, we got to experiment with abstract, artistic face paints, theatrical masks, and festival-style looks that blended into the magic of the event.

The Parade & Nighttime Magic

One of the absolute highlights of Spraoi was the spectacular parade that closed out the festival. As night fell, the city transformed into something otherworldly—with glowing floats, illuminated costumes, and fire performers lighting up the streets.

Seeing our painted designs reflecting the glow of the parade lights was always an amazing moment—it felt like we were part of something truly magical.

While we may not be setting up at Waterford Spraoi anymore, it will always hold a special place in our hearts.
